Chris Morgan
Lead Pastor
Immanuel Baptist Church is honored to have Chris Morgan, PhD., as Lead Pastor. In addition to being our Pastor, Chris serves as the Dean for the School of Christian Ministries and Professor of Theology at California Baptist University. He has served in pastoral ministry for more than twenty-four years.
Chris and his wife Shelley have one daughter Chelsey. He enjoys walking, reading, baseball, golf, and especially time with his family at the ocean. They have been a part of the Immanuel family for more than ten years.
He is the author or editor of over 20 books, including Christian Theology: The Biblical Story and Our Faith, A Concise Dictionary of Theological Terms, Baptists and the Christian Tradition, and Biblical Spirituality. He also serves as the editor of the Theology in Community series (8+ volumes, Crossway), a general editor of the Systematic Theology Study Bible (ESV, Crossway), and a general editor of the new Theology for the People of God series (15 volumes, B&H).
