Chris Morgan

Interim Pastor

Immanuel Baptist Church is honored to have Dr. Chris Morgan as Interim Pastor. In addition to being our Interim Pastor, Chris serves as the Dean for the School of Christian Ministries and Professor of Theology at California Baptist University. He has served in pastoral ministry for more than twenty-four years.

Chris and his wife Shelley have one daughter Chelsey. He enjoys walking, reading, baseball, golf, and especially time with his family at the ocean. They have been a part of the Immanuel family for more than ten years.

He is the author or editor of over 20 books, including Christian Theology: The Biblical Story and Our Faith, A Concise Dictionary of Theological Terms, Baptists and the Christian Tradition, and Biblical Spirituality. He also serves as the editor of the Theology in Community series (8+ volumes, Crossway), a general editor of the Systematic Theology Study Bible (ESV, Crossway), and a general editor of the new Theology for the People of God series (15 volumes, B&H).

My name is Tracy, I am a San Bernardino lifer and love this valley.  Immanuel is my home Church and I returned here about 15 years ago and came on staff over 12 years ago.  My wife and partner in ministry is Cheryl, we have 4 adult children and 5 grandkids.  Our heart is to see Immanuel glorify God and be a leader for Him in the Inland Valley and beyond.

Hi, my name is Stephen, and I’m the Associate Pastor of Ministry Leadership. My wife Natalie and I met in college and have been happily married for 21 years. We have three kids age 15, 13, and 10. Before joining Immanuel, I was Senior Pastor at Crossview Bible Church in Yucca Valley and an Adjunct Professor at California Baptist University. In my free time, I love hiking, gardening, golfing, and stargazing. Pretty much anything that involves fresh air and God’s beautiful creation. I look forward to meeting you soon!

My name is Gary Pounds, and I am the Minister of Church Administration. I have been a member of IBC since 1976. I was saved at IBC summer camp when I was 14. I have been married to my wonderful wife Mary for 37 years. I have four adult children, three of whom are married and have 4.75 grandchildren so far. I spent 30 years in executive level management in the private sector prior to being asked to serve IBC in my current capacity. Prior to coming on staff, I served in many lay positions at IBC including chairman of the trustees, chairman of the deacons, Sunday school director and teacher as well many other areas of ministry. I love IBC, its people and staff and consider it a blessing to serve here.

In California there is no Bangla (Bangladesh native language) speaking church where they can worship in their mother language. They are working with the Bangladesh community in Loma Linda, Redlands, Highland and San Bernardino.

Hi! I’m Scott Stevenson, and I’ve been happily married for the past thirty years to my lovely wife, Maria.  I’m better known as Maria Stevenson’s husband at Immanuel. We have four boys, Marco, Blake, and the twins Michael and Matthew. The Lord called me out of Law Enforcement to ministry in 2007, and I have been serving ever since. If you haven’t figured it out, you will learn soon that I love Discipleship! Discipleship gave me my focus in my Christian walk. I want everyone to have this tremendous advantage, especially at the beginning of their walk with the Lord.  I hope to continue to share my love of the Lord’s command for many years to come.

Dr. Joseph Bolin

Over the past 20 years, Joseph Bolin’s career has spanned a broad cross-section of performance, music education, professional conducting, and church worship ministry. After pursuing an early career in opera, in which he studied and performed throughout the United States and abroad, Joseph embraced the Lord’s leading into full time worship ministry, a vocation he has actively pursued for the past 20 years. As a full-time worship pastor, Joseph has lead worship ministries of hundreds in several influential churches spanning a variety of worship styles and cultures dynamics. In addition to his vocation as a worship pastor, Joseph received his DMA in choral conducting in 2013. That same year, he joined the faculty of the University of Texas Butler School of Music, serving as Associate Director of Choral Studies where he taught voice and conducted the University of Texas Concert Chorale. In 2016, Dr. Bolin accepted the position of Dean of the Collinsworth School of Music at California Baptist University where he leads a school of over 400 music students and 60 faculty. With undergraduate and graduate programs in performance, composition, music education, and worship studies, the School of Music at CBU features 22 major vocal and instrumental ensembles, performing more than 200 concerts annually throughout the US. In January of 2019, Dr. Bolin became the Worship Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church where he leads a team of gifted artists in the mission of facilitating authentic, passionate, and excellent worship during weekend services.
