Here at Immanuel we hold Parent Commitment Services quarterly. The dates vary from year to year, but are generally held in February, May, August, and November. Parent Commitment is not a baptism or a Christening. Instead, it is a special time for parents, grandparents, guardians, etc. to commit to raising their child according to scripture.
The New Testament clearly teaches that the decision to accept Christ as personal Savior is an individual decision that each person must make on their own…one cannot make the decision for their child. The child’s decision to accept Christ can only be made after the Holy Spirit has determined the child has an adequate understanding of their personal sin.
Because of the seriousness of the commitment to be the parent God wants you to be, it is imperative that you be walking according to God’s plan for your life. A required one hour-long Orientation Class must be attended by both parents in order to participate in a commitment service. Sunday, November 23, 2008 at both morning services.
Registration deadline is, Friday November 14th. Please click on the above link or contact the Preschool Office ASAP in order to register. Each participant will need to provide a photo of the child and some basic family information.
